Journalist reveals if Dele Alli has travelled to Belgium

The Athletic’s Charlie Eccleshare has taken to social media to reveal that Dele Alli has made the trip to Belgium for Tottenham’s Europa League group game against Royal Antwerp tomorrow.

Alli came on as a second-half substitute in Tottenham’s 3-0 win over LASK last week and got around 30 minutes under his belt.

He was subsequently left out of the squad for Tottenham’s trip to Burnley, which did not come as much of a surprise as he has hardly been used in the Premier League by Jose Mourinho this season.

The opening day defeat against Everton is still the only game that the 24-year-old has started this season in any competition (transfermarkt.com).

Even if Alli does not start against Antwerp, Eccleshare suggested that the England international has a good chance of getting some minutes under his belt, since five substitutions can be made in European competitions this season.

Going by the evidence of what we have seen so far this season, we can expect Mourinho to name a much-changed side to the one that started at Turf Moor on Monday.
