Journalist reveals impression Joe Rodon has made on Mourinho and coaching staff

Tottenham fans have not had an opportunity to have a good look at Joe Rodon since he arrived in North London on domestic transfer deadline day.

The former Swansea man made his debut in Tottenham’s win at Turf Moor last month after he came on in the final few minutes to help Spurs see out their victory but has not been given a look-in since then.

His first meaningful taste of competitive action over the last month came in Wales’ 1-0 Nations League win over the Republic of Ireland on Sunday, with the Tottenham man once again putting in a near-flawless display at the back for his country.

Despite his lack of game time at Tottenham, Football.London’s Alasdair Gold has revealed on his YouTube channel that Jose Mourinho and his coaching staff have been pleased with what they have seen from Rodon in training.

Gold suggested that the 23-year-old moving ahead of Davinson Sanchez in the pecking order is an indication as to how well he has been doing.

He backed the central defender to get a few games under his belt during the busy Christmas period, although he hinted that Japhet Tanganga’s return to fitness may adversely affect his chances of getting game time.
