In what could be a potential boost to Tottenham’s pursuit of Lautaro Martinez, Fabrizio Romano has now confirmed that Inter Milan have completed the signing of Edin Dzeko from AS Roma.

Inter have reportedly continued to maintain Martinez is not for sale despite reports in the British press claiming over the weekend that the North Londoners had agreed on a fee for the striker.

Some sources have indicated that Inter are hoping the Argentine extends his contract which has two years left to run while others have suggested the Serie A club are on the lookout for replacements for the 23-year-old.

The forward is thought to have his heart set on a move to Tottenham and has allegedly told those in his inner of that desire.

Tottenham’s hopes of landing Martinez may have now been boosted by Dzeko’s arrival at the San Siro. Romano revealed the Bosnian is currently having his medical ahead of his transfer to the Nerazzurri.

Spurs fans should not get too excited about this as Dzeko might well be a replacement for Lukaku rather than Martinez. One would expect Inter to sign at least one other forward if they have decided to cash in on the Argentine.
