TalkSPORT reporter Alex Crook has revealed that while Julian Nagelsmann was initially not keen on taking the Tottenham job, the German is now coming around to the idea of replacing Antonio Conte.
Multiple outlets have reported over the last 24 hours that Spurs are now locked in talks with Nagelsmann after the German pulled out of the race for the Chelsea job.
The Telegraph revealed yesterday that the former Bayern Munich boss wants cast-iron assurances over the size of the wage bill and quality of players he would be able to sign as part of a squad rebuild if he is to accept the post.
The Independent subsequently claimed that the 35-year-old wants ‘a decisive say in transfer dealings’ at the North London club and that Daniel Levy ‘will make a strong attempt’ to persuade him to take the job.
Crook’s latest update comes as a boost to Tottenham, with the journalist suggesting that Nagelsmann’s position on taking over in N17 is now ‘softening’.
He told talkSPORT: “I think the other interesting development coming out of Spurs today is Julian Nagelsmann, who a couple of weeks ago when Chelsea were interested, it looked like he wasn’t necessarily too keen on taking the Tottenham job.
“From what I’m hearing over the course of the afternoon, there maybe has been a softening on that stance and maybe Nagelsmann is more interested than he was previously about taking over at Spurs. Daniel Levy would love to bring in a coach of his calibre, so certainly, that’s a situation to keep an eye on.”

Spurs Web Opinion
The only way it would be acceptable for Tottenham to not even reach out to Pochettino and to allow the Argentine to go to Chelsea is if we are able to get Nagelsmann through the door. So, Daniel Levy has no choice but to get this deal over the line if he is to somehow get the Spurs fans onside.
