Journalist reveals ‘no progress’ has been made in Spurs Traore deal with 5 days to go

Simon Stone from BBC Sport has reported that ‘no progress’ has been made in the deal to bring Wolves winger, Adama Traore, to Tottenham Hotspur.

This comes with just five days remaining in the January transfer window, the last chance Antonio Conte will have to strengthen his squad until the summer.

Sky Sports reported earlier this month that Tottenham were closing in on a deal to sign the Spanish attacker, with just 18-months left on Traore’s Wolves contract.

The Telegraph reported last week that Wolves had rejected a £15 million bid from Spurs, but there was an expectation a deal could be agreed.

However, Alasdair Gold has since revealed there are three different noises coming out of the deal. Wolves seem to claim that Spurs made a £15m bid, which was rejected, although Tottenham are surprised by this idea, stating they have not yet made an offer.

Finally, Traore’s representatives have reportedly given the impression that a deal is close and it is only a ‘matter of time’ before he is wearing the Lilywhites of Tottenham.

Unfortunately, with five days to go, Simon Stone still claims that no progress has been made.

Spurs Web Opinion:

It would be a media disaster for Spurs to not get this one over the line and fans would be in uproar. I can’t imagine Tottenham will let it collapse over a few million quid if Conte really wants the right-wing-back to join.
