Tottenham Hotspur fans will be very interested in what one journalist has said about rumours linking Spurs with a move for Vitor Roque.
One can understand why Spurs are being linked with number nines ahead of the January window, given the issues Thomas Frank has had up front.
Mathys Tel is still very young, while Richarlison has not been up to scratch so far this season. The two other centre-forwards at the Dane’s disposal, Randal Kolo Muani and Dominic Solanke, have had injury issues.
It emerged a few days ago that Tottenham and Chelsea are ready to make a move for Palmeiras striker Vitor Roque in January, and there has now been a new update in that transfer saga.

Journalist reveals if Tottenham target Vitor Roque could move in January
Roque’s move to Barcelona may not have gone as planned, but the 20-year-old has been very impressive since his return to Brazil at the start of the year.
The centre-forward has found the back of the net 17 times this season, but journalist Jorge Nicola has rubbished the rumours linking him with a return to Europe.
He suggested that Palmeiras will not let their starlet leave and that the rumours are being fed to the press by the player’s entourage.
Nicola said on his YouTube channel about Roque: “The name is completely ruled out. Chelsea never thought about, nor intends to think about, signing Vitor Roque. Any noise around the forward comes from people close to Vitor trying to give him visibility abroad. Palmeiras are very confident that the £21m invested will keep Vitor Roque here for a long time.”
The journalist added that Tottenham Hotspur have at least two strikers who they believe would be ahead of Roque in the pecking order, thus making a deal rather pointless.
Spurs have liked Roque for a long time
While Nicola seems confident that these rumours are not anything more than paper talk, there is one important fact to consider about the speculation.
This is not the first time the striker has been linked with a move to N17, with Tottenham credited with an interest in Roque last year as well.
In fact, Spurs allegedly almost signed Roque prior to his move to Barcelona, which means that the Lilywhites have been long-time admirers of the youngster.
