Journalist reveals player Spurs midfielder could be loaned out in January

Alasdair Gold has revealed that Tottenham Hotspur could decide to loan out Jack Clarke in January despite deciding against doing so during the previous transfer window.

Clarke failed to make much of an impact in either of his loan spells at Leeds and QPR last season.

Many would have expected the teenager to be loaned out again this season and the winger was reportedly a target for the likes of Birmingham City (Birmingham Mail).

However, he ended up staying put at Tottenham and made his competitive debut for the club in the Europa League clash against LASK last month, replacing Carlos Vinicius in the dying stages of the game.

Gold revealed that Spurs rebuffed loan offers for the teenager during the previous transfer window from the Championship since the club wanted him to settle in, develop and get a feel of what it is like being a Tottenham player.

The journalist suggested that the former Leeds man will be handed more opportunities in the Europa League if Spurs are in commanding positions in games.

He claimed Tottenham will reassess his situation in January and will decide if the winger can take what he has learned over the past few months into a loan spell at a Championship club.
