Journalist reveals position we ‘just might see’ Spurs add to before window shuts

The Athletic journalist David Ornstein has claimed Tottenham could bring in a creative midfielder before the end of the transfer window.

Spurs have been one of the busier clubs over the course of the summer so far, making six new signings to reinforce Antonio Conte’s squad.

Arriving as free transfers, Ivan Perisic and Fraser Forster kicked off Spurs’ business before Yves Bissouma joined from Brighton as their first monetary deal.

They then splashed to recruit Richarlison from Everton in a deal worth up to £60 million (The Guardian) before signing Barcelona defender Clement Lenglet on loan and snapping up talented wing-back Djed Spence.

The Evening Standard have since claimed Spurs could ease up on their incomings and now focus on shifting players out of the club. However, the same report added that Tottenham ‘remain in the market for a creative attacker’.

Ornstein has reinforced such claims and feels bringing in a playmaker could still be on the club’s agenda before the transfer window slams shut on September 1.

He told The Athletic’s YouTube channel: “Creative midfielder is where we might just see someone come in before the window shuts”

Tottenham have made sure to address a number of problems so far and they have done it in really good time. But they shouldn’t finish there as they still have a couple more problems to fix and that includes adding some creativity from midfield.
