Journalist reveals Spurs did not end Fonseca talks due to money

Daily Telegraph journalist, Matt Law has reported that Tottenham did not pull out of talks with Paulo Fonseca due to issues with money, despite other reports.

However, Law did confirm that Spurs have pulled out of a move for the former Roma manager, meaning that the North London manager hunt continues.

It has now been around two months since Spurs sacked Jose Mourinho in late April and Daniel Levy and co have still not appointed a new head coach.

Gianluca Di Marzio reported this evening that Spurs had run into financial issues in the deal to bring Paulo Fonseca to White Hart Lane.

It had previously been reported that Fonseca was expected to be formally announced as the new head coach of Tottenham this week after talks had progressed (Guardian).

Sky Sports Italia have claimed that Gennaro Gattuso, who left Fiorentina just 23 days after becoming manager, is now in talks with Spurs.
