Journalist reveals Spurs have made an offer for Atletico Madrid star

According to El Chiringuito journalist Juanfe Sanz, Tottenham Hotspur have submitted an offer for Atletico Madrid wing-back Yannick Carrasco.

Despite being right-footed, the versatile Carrasco has operated as a left wing-back for Atletico on plenty of occasions and has also featured further forward.

Spurs are expected to be in the market for a left wing-back this summer, with reports indicating that Antonio Conte has given the green light for Sergio Reguilon to be sold (Football Insider).

It was reported towards the end of the January transfer window that Spurs had initiated talks with Atletico over Carrasco and that the North London club were even prepared to meet the Belgian’s €60m (£49.9m) release clause (Foot Mercato).

The Athletic’s David Ornstein reported at the time that Diego Simeone’s side had rejected Tottenham’s offer for the 28-year-old but added that the La Liga club could cash in on the player in the summer.

Sanz has now taken to social media to reveal that Carrasco has received an offer from Spurs ahead of the summer transfer window.

However, the El Chiringuito journalist did not elaborate any further or explain if the North Londoners were willing to meet the wing-back’s release clause.

Carrasco would be an excellent addition for Spurs as he would be able to operate at both left wing-back and right wing-back. With the 28-year-old having just two years left on his contract at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium (Transfermarkt), Atletico might be willing to cash in on the Belgian this summer.
