Journalist reveals Spurs have ‘promised’ to bid for Brazilian wonderkid

Journalist Jorge Nicola has revealed that Tottenham Hotspur have communicated their intention to make an offer for Palmeiras wonderkid Endrick.

Endrick is yet to break into Palmerias’ senior side but the 16-year-old’s displays for the Brazilian club’s youth sides is said to have attracted the interest of several big hitters around Europe.

Nicola has revealed on his YouTube channel Canal do Nicola (23/09/22 as relayed by Sport Witness) that the striker is on the radars of three Premier League sides in Spurs, Manchester United and Newcastle United.

The journalist dismisses suggestions that Barcelona recently held a meeting with Palmeiras regarding Endrick, stating that the Catalan club have not spoken regarding the player since February.

Nicola claims that Barca have told the teenager’s representatives that they are ‘unable’ to join the battle for the player, but he asserts that all three of the aforementioned Premier League clubs have ‘promised bids in the not very distant future’.

However, the Brazilian journalist adds that as things stand, it is Paris Saint-Germain who ‘seem like favourites’ to snap up Endrick.

Finally, Nicola also reveals that the youngster has a €40m (£35.7m) release clause in his contract with Palmeiras.

Bringing players from South America straight to the Premier League, is always a huge risk as one can never be sure how they would cope with the intensity of English football.

For that reason, I would expect a La Liga, Serie A or Ligue 1 club to take a punt on Endrick rather than the three Premier League sides mentioned by Nicola.
