Journalist reveals Spurs midfielder has not travelled to Portugal

Alasdair Gold has revealed that Moussa Sissoko, who has been linked with a move away from Tottenham Hotspur has not travelled with the squad for the club’s Europa Conference League playoff against Pacos de Ferreira.

Tottenham will begin their Europan campaign in Portugal this evening and even though the Conference League is not the competition the North London club would have wanted to be part of, Nuno Espirito Santo has vowed to take it seriously.

The game this evening offers an oppurtunity for the Spurs boss to rotate his squad and hand game time to some of his academy graduates and fringe players, the 48-year-old has admitted that all 11 players who started on Sunday will not start today’s clash.

One man who failed to make the matchday squad was Sissoko, who is rumoured to be on his way out of the club this summer.

Spurs Web Opinion

The fact that Spurs are being linked with the likes of Nahitan Nandez suggests that the club do expect Sissoko to depart sooner rather than later. However, Winks travelling with the squad could be an indication that he is not close to an exit as things stand.

Tottenham might have now sent a big hint that the Frenchman is indeed close to the exit door, with Gold confirming that Sissoko did not fly with the Spurs squad to Portugal
