Journalist reveals Spurs star walked straight down tunnel after Burnley final whistle

The Athletic’s Jack Pitt-Brooke has revealed that Lucas Moura walked straight down the tunnel after Tottenham’s 1-0 loss to Burnley on Wednesday.

Spurs fans would have been hoping that the team’s brilliant performance and win over Manchester City would be the turning point in the club’s season and would see the team put in a sustained assault on the top-four.

However, any lingering hopes of a fourth-place finish were seemingly crushed at Turf Moor as the Lilywhites fell to their fourth loss in five Premier League matches.

Antonio Conte admitted after the game that he would have to have a conversation with the club’s hierarchy over his position (Football.London).

According to The Sun, Daniel Levy will hold crisis talks with Conte today and try to assure the Italian that he is the right man for the job.

Pitt-Brooke has now revealed how some of the Tottenham stars reacted following the final whistle at Turf Moor. He stated that while the likes of Harry Kane went over to applaud the away fans, Moura walked straight down the tunnel after the 1-0 loss.

One cannot be too harsh on the players who walked straight into the tunnel instead of applauding the fans, given how disappointed they must have been after that performance and result.

This defeat has zapped away all the momentum and positive vibes that were created by the win over City, and unless we manage to arrest the slide very quickly, things could get quite ugly over the coming weeks.
