Journalist reveals the profile of player he thinks could arrive as Spurs’ eighth signing

Journalist Tom Barclay has claimed there is no guarantee of Spurs adding another signing this summer, although there is still a possibility of a younger player coming in.

Tottenham have already facilitated seven additions to their ranks this summer, with Fraser Forster, Ivan Perisic, Yves Bissouma, Richarlison, Clement Lenglet, and Djed Spence joining the squad before the season even kicked off.

Destiny Udogie from Udinese became the seventh signing this week, although the 19-year-old is heading back out on loan to his old club for the 22/23 season.

However, Tottenham may not stop with number seven as there appear to be more plans to improve the options within Conte’s team in this transfer window.

Spurs are said to be in the market for a creative midfielder, and they could even decide to bring in another defender before the window shuts down (Evening Standard).

They were linked with AS Roma’s Nicolo Zaniolo, but Jose Mourinho continues to be a thorn in their pursuit (90min).

Barclay has now revealed that, although it is not guaranteed, the north London club could indeed sign another player before deadline day. Having said that, he believes any new reinforcement would probably be one for the future rather than a big-name superstar.

Barclay told GIVEMESPORT: “Yes, I think there’s a possibility of another player coming in. But again, as I’ve said throughout after the six signings came in, I don’t think there’s a guarantee of it at all.”

“Personally, I wouldn’t be surprised if it was a younger player rather than a big money signing.”

Spurs Web Opinion:

Despite all the signings they have made, Antonio Conte’s side could still use players to increase their squad depth. Positions like centre-back, attacking midfielder and centre-forward could use some strengthening.

However, Spurs may look to invest in a young talent due to the relatively lower cost compared to a big-money signing. Tottenham have already spent quite a lot this summer, so it would probably be difficult for them to stump up a huge fee.
