Journalist reveals there is a ‘75% chance’ of Tottenham target leaving on a free

Calciomercato.com journalist Daniele Longo has revealed that Tottenham target Franck Kessie is highly likely to leave AC Milan as a free agent next summer.

There has been plenty of speculation over Kessie’s future over the last couple of weeks after it emerged that Milan’s contract negotiations with the midfielder had hit a roadblock.

The 24-year-old’s current deal runs out at the end of the season and he is reportedly on the radars of Spurs, Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain.

It has also been revealed over recent days that Newcastle United have also entered the race for the Ivory Coast international following their takeover by a Saudi-led consortium.

Corriere dello Sport suggested last week that a January exit from the San Siro is on the cards for the midfielder.

However, Longo has now claimed that Kessie is more likely to leave as a free agent next summer, naming Tottenham along with Barcelona, PSG and Manchester United as the clubs trying to snap him up on a free transfer.

The journalist told Football Italia: “As far as we know, there isn’t a chance to see Kessié leave in January.

“However, there are 75% chances he won’t extend his contract with Milan, so he would leave the club as a free agent in the summer.

“Barcelona, PSG, Manchester United and Tottenham are all ready to secure his service at the end of the season.”

Spurs Web Opinion

One would imagine that Milan would be keen to cash in on Kessie in January to avoid losing him on a free transfer next summer. So, the likes of Spurs might potentially test the water with an offer for the midfielder in January.
