BBC Wales reporter Gareth Vincent has taken to social media to reveal that Swansea are trying to snap up replacements for Joe Rodon as they continue talks with Tottenham over the central defender.
The Athletic’s David Ornstein revealed a few hours ago that Tottenham were cautiously optimistic of getting a deal for Rodon over the line, with the centre-back on stand by to complete a medical if a fee can be agreed between the two clubs before the 5 pm deadline.
Previous reports indicated that Swansea wish to bring two central defenders in before parting ways with Rodon and it now appears as if they might be close to snapping up the replacements they wanted.
Vincent took to social media to reveal that the Swans had already concluded a deal for Manchester City defender Joel Latibeaudiere and that they are also in talks with Wolves over a permanent deal for Ryan Bennet.
However, he insisted that any deal for Bennet, as well as QPR midfielder Ryan Manning, who is also a target, depend on Rodon’s proposed move to Tottenham going through.
He admitted that there was no clarity with regards to how close Swansea and Spurs are to agreeing on a transfer fee.
Swansea will sign Joel Latibeaudiere and Kasey Palmer. Ryan Bennett and Ryan Manning on permanent deals in the pipeline but those two probably depend on Joe Rodon leaving. Spurs trying to get a deal done but no news yet of fee being agreed. Going to the wire
