Journalist reveals two more international players have tested positive for COVID-19

Football.London’s Alasdair Gold has revealed that two more players from South Korea’s squad have tested positive for COVID-19 but that Son Heung-min’s test has come back negative.

The Daily Mail revealed earlier today that four players in the South Korean squad, Ulsan Hyundai’s Jo Hyeon-woo, Busan’s Lee Dongjun, Freiburg’s Kwon Changhoon and Rubin Kazan’s Hwang Inbeom, had tested positive for the virus.

As a result, Son and his teammates were forced to quarantine in their hotel rooms, as they awaited the results of another test that was administered this morning.

Alasdair Gold has now confirmed that the results of the test have shown two more positive cases within the camp.

While the journalist did not reveal the identity of the players who tested positive, he did confirm that Son was not one of them.

Additionally, Gold also revealed that South Korea’s friendly against Mexico is set to go ahead as planned despite the positive tests.

Spurs Web Opinion

The fact that two more players were tested positive suggests that the virus is spreading through the South Korean camp. It makes little sense why a friendly should go ahead under the current circumstances.

The last thing Spurs need is for Son to be unavailable for the crucial clash against Manchester City next weekend. I am sure Mourinho will have a few choice words if the worst comes to pass and Son tests positive for the virus.
