Journalist reveals update on potential January comings and goings for Tottenham

Football.London’s Alasdair Gold has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur will only sign new players in the January transfer window if they can raise funds through player sales.

Spurs were one of the busiest clubs in the summer in terms of incomings, with seven new faces arriving through the Hotspur Way doors.

As a result, the squad has a lot more strength-in-depth this season compared to previous campaigns, which has meant that some players have struggled for game time so far.

Gold names five first-team players who are most likely to leave the North Londoners next month.

He suggests that Tottenham are willing to hold talks with Dele Alli should his situation not improve but claims that any loan move to a direct rival is unlikely.

The journalist also reveals that Spurs are ready to listen to offers for Paulo Gazzaniga, while Danny Rose is also set to leave, although the club do not expect to receive a transfer fee for the defender.

It is also suggested that Gedson Fernandes’ loan deal may be terminated next month, while Jack Clarke could be allowed to go out on loan to get game time.

Additionally, Gold also reveals that Tottenham will have to make decisions on the futures of Anthony Georgiou and George Marsh, with both of their contracts running out at the end of the season.

Spurs Web Opinion

It is surprising that Davinson Sanchez’s name has not been mentioned in the report. If recent reports are to be believed, the Colombian seems to be attracting plenty of interest from around Europe. He is a player who could potentially fetch a decent sum in the transfer market as the centre-back clearly does not seem to be part of Mourinho’s plans.
