Journalist reveals what he has heard about potential Spurs move for Dominic Solanke

Journalist Ben Jacobs has completely dismissed reports suggesting that Tottenham Hotspur might be plotting a deadline-day move for Bournemouth striker Dominic Solanke.

Solanke has been in career-best form for much of this season, having found the back of the net 14 times across all competitions so far in 2023-24.

It has been widely reported that the centre-forward’s displays this campaign have caught Tottenham’s eye, with The Sun even suggesting earlier this week that the Lilywhites are plotting a late move for the player before the window slams shut.

The report alleged that Ange Postecoglou’s men are willing to spend over £50m to bring the England international to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

It was explained that while Brentford had identified potential replacements for the player, it would take a ‘huge bid’ to convince them to part ways with their star man.

Deadline day move not on the cards for Solanke to Spurs

Jacobs has now taken to social media to confirm that Spurs do ‘respect’ Solanke, given the performances he has delivered at the South Coast this season.

However, he insisted that there is no truth to reports of the North London club plotting a move for the 27-year-old, insisting that the Cherries star is not a target for the time being.

Given the form Richarlison has been in, with Son soon set to return, and with Werner also capable of playing through the middle, there is no reason for Postecoglou to want another centre-forward before this evening’s transfer deadline.
