Journalist reveals what he heard about Kane’s future from ‘high-ranking’ source

TalkSPORT’s Alex Crook has revealed that he has heard from a high ranking official at a Premier League club that Harry Kane will leave Tottenham this summer if the North Londoners do not qualify for the Champions League.

Kane admitted in an interview back in March that he will only make a decision regarding his future following the European Championship in the summer.

After picking up the Player of the Year award at the London Football Award last week, the England captain stated that it is team trophies he is really after.

Some pundits see the 27-year-old’s recent interviews as a ‘come-and-get-me’ plea to interested parties ahead of the summer transfer window.

However, a few sources continue to suggest that Tottenham are determined to hold on to their talismanic striker, with Daniel Levy even hopeful of getting him to sign a new contract.

Crook has now asserted that he has heard from a well-placed source that Kane is guaranteed to leave Spurs if the club fail to finish in the top four.

The journalist said on TalkSport Gameday podcast (as relayed by Sportslens): “Well, I was told by somebody high ranking at one of the Premier League clubs that Harry Kane absolutely will leave Tottenham this summer. It’s not even in debate.”
