Journalist reveals what he’s heard about Conte’s mood at Spurs this summer

Journalist Dean Jones has revealed that Antonio Conte is ‘just so happy’ with how things are shaping up ahead of his first full season in charge of Tottenham.

Spurs have granted Conte his wish of completing their key signings early, so that new players can get accustomed to the Italian’s ideas during pre-season (Evening Standard).

On Tuesday, Tottenham officially announced their capture of Djed Spence, who became the North London club’s sixth new addition of the transfer window.

Spence and Clement Lenglet reportedly trained with their Tottenham teammates at Hotspur Way for the first time on Tuesday (Dan Kilpatrick).

Conte remarked last week that his decision to remain at Spurs was an easy one as the club’s hierarchy has demonstrated they are as ambitious as he is (Daily Mail).

Jones has revealed that he has gathered from speaking to those who were on tour with the 52-year-old in South Korea that the Tottenham head coach is very content with how things are shaping up at the moment.

The journalist told The Done Deal Show: “It’s just perfect for Conte. He’s so happy right now and that’s what is key. Keeping Conte as happy as he is right now is just an absolute win for Tottenham and Daniel Levy and everyone at the club.

“I spoke to someone who is on tour with them and they said Conte is just so happy, he just seems like a different person.

“Of course, you still see the warrior side of him, sending players on 42 laps of the pitch in that heat, but his demeanour, he looks like a man who is very content at the moment and that isn’t always the case with Antonio Conte.”

It is clear that the club have pulled all stops to get Conte what he wants ahead of the new season. From the way the Italian has talked about the new signings, it is clear that all of the players who have come through the door are the ones he wanted.

Hopefully, the feel-good factor around Tottenham at the moment can help us hit the ground running at the start of the season.
