Journalist reveals what Jose Mourinho thinks about re-signing Christian Eriksen

Football.London’s Alasdair Gold has claimed that there could be too many hurdles in the way for Christian Eriksen to seal a potential return to Tottenham Hotspur before the end of the month, including the fact that Jose Mourinho is not being particularly enthusiastic about the idea.

Eriksen has endured a difficult 12 months since leaving Spurs for Inter Milan and it has been reported over the last few days that the Dane’s representatives have contacted Tottenham about a potential return to the North London club.

Gold has now backed up that claim, admitting that the player is keen to return to his old stomping ground.

However, he claims that although Mourinho enjoyed working with the 28-year-old during their brief time together at Spurs, the Tottenham boss is yet to be sold on the idea of re-signing the midfielder.

In addition, the journalist also points out in the report that Tottenham have issues fulfilling their homegrown criteria in the Premier League and Europe and bringing in another non-homegrown player would exacerbate their issues.

I do not see Eriksen as being a very good fit for the system we currently play. Even if he returns, I suspect he will be nothing more than a bit-part player as the Dane does not provide enough off the ball to be a regular in our current side.
