Journalist reveals what sources around Spurs are saying about 28-year-old’s future

Dean Jones has written in his column on Sports Lens that Tottenham Hotspur are happy with the impact Timo Werner has made since arriving at the club and are keen to keep him beyond the end of the season.

The journalist says that the feeling in the Spurs camp is that Werner has been ‘a worthwhile addition to the squad’ since arriving on loan from RB Leipzig in January.

Jones claims that ‘various sources around the club’ are intimating Ange Postecoglou‘s side wants to activate the £15m option to buy the forward on a permanent basis.

Timo Werner wants to stay at Spurs

He explains that the 28-year-old has impressed the staff at Hotspur Way with the way he handles himself and has proven ‘a low-maintenance addition’ to the side.

Jones also took to X to reveal that the on-loan RB Leipzig foward wishes to stay at the North London club beyond the summer.

This update comes a couple of days after BILD revealed that Tottenham have to decide on Werner’s future by June 14th as the permanent clause expires on that date.

Even if Werner fails to register a single goal contribution from now until the end of the season, I would still fully expect Tottenham to take up the option to sign the forward permanently, given the low fee involved.
