Journalist reveals what Spurs have planned for Dennis Cirkin if new left-back signs

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly set to agree a deal with Real Madrid for the transfer of Sergio Reguilon as early as today (Telegraph).

The Telegraph claim that the left-back will likely be announced as a Tottenham man on Thursday once the deal is completed.

However, this raises an important question, what will happen to the rest of the left-backs already in North London.

Spurs currently have Ben Davies as their number one choice under Jose Mourinho, with Ryan Sessegnon and Dennis Cirkin presenting more youthful options.

Cirkin, who impressed during pre-season matches this summer, is likely to be at the bottom of the pecking order due to his lack of experience.

However, journalist Charlie Eccleshare has now reported that Tottenham would like Cirkin to stay with them at Hotspur Way until the January transfer window, at which point they may loan him out for the second half of the season.
