Journalist reveals what the fringe players at Spurs think about Ange Postecolgou

The Daily Mail’s Sami Mokbel has revealed that even the players who are not getting regular starts at Tottenham Hotspur love working with Ange Postecoglou, due to the honesty with which the Australian communicates his decisions.

From the outside looking in, it certainly appears like there is a real togetherness among the Spurs squad at the moment, which appeared to be missing over the last couple of years.

The players seem to be working hard for each other and are evidently enjoying their football at the moment.

That is perhaps down to the fact that Postecoglou has given the players the freedom to express themselves, which was not a luxury they had under the last three Spurs managers, whose primary focus at times was on maintaining good shape without the ball.

Everyone in the Tottenham squad loves Ange Postecoglou

Mokbel has revealed that it is not just the players who are playing regularly that are enjoying life at Tottenham but even those who find themselves on the bench are loving being part of the current project.

The journalist said on the Last Word on Spurs podcast: “It’s not just the players that he’s using that are responding to his methods and just how he is as a guy.

“A lot of the dealings and conversations that I’ve had with regards to Tottenham this season, and Ange’s approach to players, is that even the players who are on the peripheries of the squad, who would generally be upset with the way they’ve been treated, absolutely love him, because he’s just a straight up and down guy.

“He just tells them straight, look, I get you being frustrated that you’re not playing. And these are the reasons why you’re not playing.”

One can see that even the likes of Lo Celso, Bryan Gil, Emerson, Skipp and the other squad players are ready to give their all whenever called upon.

While the spate of injuries that Tottenham have had this season has been a huge challenge for Postecoglou, the one unintended positive from that is the fact that game time has been shared around the squad, which certainly helps get a buy-in from the fringe players.
