The Standard’s Dan Kilpatrick has revealed how long Guglielmo Vicario is expected to be out with his ankle injury at Tottenham Hotspur.

Fraiser Forster steps up in Guglielmo Vicario injury absence
When Vicario fractured his ankle in Tottenham’s 4-0 win over Manchester City last month, there were fears that the Lilywhites would struggle without the Italian, who is not just a superb shot-stopper but also crucial in helping the side play out from the back.
However, Forster has stepped up in the 28-year-old’s absence, with the Englishman arguably having been Spurs‘ best player over recent weeks.
The experienced goalkeeper has made some tremendous stops, and while he has been hit-and-miss when it comes to decision-making on the ball, he has not made any costly errors so far.

When will Guglielmo Vicario return from injury?
Dan Kilpatrick has said that the Tottenham number one is not expected to be back in action until February.
That means Ange Postecoglou‘s men potentially face being without their number one for two more months.
Kilpatrick contends that given how well Forster has performed over recent games, his performances ‘have surely convinced’ Spurs to wait until the summer before signing genuine competition for the Italian.

Tottenham may enter the market for a goalkeeper in January
If it turns out that Vicario does not look like returning until the end of February, Spurs may well enter the market for a young, English goalkeeper in January.
Postecoglou will not want to risk handing Alfie Whiteman or Brandon Austin their debuts in case Forster picks up an injury or is sent off.
It has been reported that Sunderland’s Anthony Patterson and Burnley’s James Trafford are both options that the Lilywhites are considering.
