The Evening Standard’s Dan Kilpatrick has revealed that Cristian Romero could be in attendance on Sunday for Tottenham’s pre-season friendly against Arsenal but the centre-back is unlikely to be involved in the match.
Tottenham were locked in negotiations with Atalanta over a Romero deal for several weeks and the North Londoners were reportedly left frustrated by the process.
Although Tottenham are yet to officially confirmed the Argentine’s signing, the player has already spoken of his delight at the impending move.
Kilpatrick has now revealed that Spurs could announce the deal today, adding that Romero will not have to quarantine on arriving in the UK since he has already been double jabbed.
However, the journalist pointed out that the defender’s lack of training might rule him out of being involved in Tottenham’s final preseason game against Arsenal.
#thfc Cristian Romero deal could be announced today. He's been double jabbed so not expecting him to have to quarantine, which raises possibility he'll be at Arsenal game on Sunday. Seems unlikely he'd be involved given lack of training with squad / since Copa America Final.

While one would not expect Romero to be involved against Arsenal, hopefully, the 23-year-old can prove his fitness to Nuno in the training pitch over the next week and start our season opener against City.
If Romero is not involved against City, we would have to likely risk playing one of Tanganga or Rodon alongside Dier at centre-back since Sanchez appears to be on his way out.
