Journalist reveals which pot Tottenham will be in for Champions League draw

ESPN journalist Dale Johnson has revealed that Tottenham Hotspur will be in pot 2 for the Champions League group stage draw.

Tottenham sealed Champions League qualification for the first time in three seasons with their 5-0 demolition of Norwich in their final game of the campaign.

Antonio Conte admitted that finishing fourth after taking over the club during mid-season felt like winning a trophy, and even insisted that it was one of the biggest achievements of his managerial career (Spurs TV).

Spurs fans will hear the Champions League anthem at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium once again next season and will be looking forward to the draw for the group stage.

Pot 1 will include all teams who have won their respective domestic league titles, along with the Champions League winners and Europa League winners.

Johnson has now taken to social media to reveal that Spurs will be in pot 2 along with teams like Chelsea, Barcelona, Juventus, Atletico Madrid, Sevilla and RB Leipzig.

He added that Liverpool could also enter pot 2 if they lose the Champions League final to Real Madrid.

Spurs Web Opinion

The fact that we are listed last in pot 2 suggests that we just about scraped in over teams like Borussia Dortmund, thanks to the UEFA coefficients we earned from our run to the Champions League final in 2019.

That could potentially make a massive difference as our group would have been a lot harder if we had been placed in pot 3 of the draw. I now expect us to qualify for the knockout stages over any of the teams in pot 3.
