Journalist reveals who could challenge Spurs for Vlahovic – Rules Arsenal out

Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla has revealed that Atletico Madrid and Liverpool are Tottenham’s main competitors for Fiorentina’s Dusan Vlahovic, insisting that Arsenal are not in the race for the striker.

In the days following Conte’s appointment at Tottenham last week, reports emerged that the Italian had asked the club to bring in Vlahvoic.

It has been alleged that Fabio Paratici recently met with the Fiorentina directors to discuss a potential deal for the Serbian international.

Gianluca Di Marzio then reported that Arsenal had also held a meeting with the Viola hierarchy over a January deal for the centre-forward.

However, Pedulla has now dismissed that claim, insisting that the Gunners have not had any contact with Fiorentina regarding Vlahovic.

The journalist claimed that Conte ‘really likes’ the 21-year-old and has asked Paratici to snap him up.

However, he added that the indications at the moment are that Fiorentina would prefer to sell the centre-forward next summer rather than in January.

Pedulla claimed that while Juve like Vlahovic, the Viola would prefer to sell the player outside Italy. He thus suggests that Atletico Madrid and Liverpool are Spurs’ biggest competitors for Vlahvoic’s signature.

Spurs Web Opinion

I only see Paratici pursuing Vlahovic in January if he feels that other clubs might beat Spurs to the signing of the centre-forward. I suspect that the Serbian has been earmarked by Tottenham as a target for next summer.

His value would also drop significantly as he would only have a year left to run on his contract with Fiorentina at the end of this season.
