Journalist reveals why Danny Rose was missing against Norwich

Danny Rose was once again not named in the Tottenham Hotspur squad for the trip to Norwich City.

The left back has not been seen since he came on as a substitute during the 2-0 defeat to Chelsea on Boxing Day.

Spurs head coach Jose Mourinho has typically decided to play Jan Vertonghen on the left side of his defence with Ben Davies currently sidelined with ankle ligament damage.

While there has been no official announcement from the club on Rose’s situation, PA Sport journalist Jonathan Veal has claimed that the England international had a muscle injury which stopped him from being considered against the Canaries.

The 29-year-old revealed last month that he plans to run down his contract at Tottenham which expires in the summer of 2021 after claiming that he was told before the start of the season by chairman Daniel Levy that he will not be offered a new deal (Telegraph).
