Journalist says Spurs-linked midfielder has agreed personal terms with Arsenal

CBS Sport journalist Ben Jacobs has revealed Leicester midfielder Youri Tielemans wants to join Arsenal after previously also being linked with a potential move to Tottenham.

Tielemans has entered the final year of his contract with the Foxes with clubs looking to pick up a potential bargain going forward.

The Belgium international was reportedly on Spurs’ radar earlier in the summer (GiveMeSport) with Antonio Conte’s side still looking to add a creative midfielder to their squad (Evening Standard).

However, their North London rivals Arsenal have emerged as one of the more serious suitors with chiefs from the Gunners establishing contact with the 25-year-old’s representatives (Football.London).

Jacobs has revealed that Arsenal have still not made an official approach to Leicester regarding a transfer, but Tielemans is keen on a switch to the Emirates Stadium having previously agreed personal terms.

He told GiveMeSport: “As Leicester have said and as I’ve said repeatedly, Arsenal have never made an offer for Youri Tielemans.

“What they have done is gone to the player and agreed personal terms, broadly speaking. What they do know is that Tielemans would like to move to Arsenal.”

Tielemans does not look like the type of player Spurs should be looking at anymore as they now have plenty of options in central midfield to choose from. He is also not necessarily the profile Spurs need in terms of creativity so this will likely be a rumour that will die out going forward.
