Journalist says Spurs man ‘has to get down to work’ if he wants January transfer

Journalist Toni Hernandez has stated in his column for Deporte Valenciano that Bryan Gil has to act quickly if he wants to rejoin Valencia on loan during the current transfer window.

Gil has been handed opportunities over recent weeks in light of the injuries to Dejan Kulusevski, Richarlison and Lucas Moura and the winger has grabbed them with both hands.

Some publications have suggested over recent weeks that Antonio Conte has changed his mind about loaning out the Spaniard and now wants to hang on to him (Estadio Deportivo).

Hernandez has now revealed that Gil’s name ‘is still very present’ in Valencia’s wishlist and that the La Liga club believe a deal is possible.

The journalist adds that the Tottenham man would be a ‘very good fit’ for Los Che as he suits Gennaro Gattuso’s ‘wants and needs’.

However, he points out that the deal has to be closed quickly and states that it ‘would not make sense’ for anyone to have the negotiations delayed until the final days of the transfer market.

Hernandez also opines that Gil ‘has to get down to work right away’ if he wants the move to happen this month.

Spurs Web Opinion

While Gil has done really well over recent weeks, I do not see him getting many minutes over the coming months, particularly since I expect us to sign another attacking player this window. The 21-year-old will understandably be fuming if Spurs decide to hang on to him, only for Conte to hardly use him for the rest of the season.
