Journalist says Villarreal star is on Spurs radar but questions if he would improve the team

Dean Jones has claimed Villarreal forward Arnaut Danjuma is on Tottenham’s radar ahead of the summer transfer window.

Danjuma has left a big impression on the LaLiga side after securing a switch from Bournemouth, netting 16 goals in his first season at the club (Transfermarkt).

The Netherlands international’s strong displays have since linked him with a move back to England, with Tottenham noted as one club interested in a potential transfer.

90min recently reported that managing director Fabio Paratici sent representatives to watch Danjuma in action for Villarreal in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final against Liverpool earlier this month.

And with the speculation continuing to bubble ahead of the summer, transfer expert Jones fully believes that Danjuma is on Tottenham’s watch list.

He did, however, question whether the winger would be a player of a good enough calibre to really improve Antonio Conte’s side next season.

Jones told GiveMeSport: “They’ve got Danjuma on their radar. He’s a good player, but I don’t believe that he’s going to increase the ceiling of what this Tottenham team can achieve, so I think this is one they will wait and see on.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Danjuma has produced a fine campaign for Villarreal and no doubt there will be plenty of teams interested in his signature this season.

His displays in the Champions League showed that he can perform on the big stage which is why Tottenham should consider him at least.

Spurs’ forward line is pretty packed as it stands but potential movement could open up some space for him.
