Italian journalist Luca Momblano has revealed whether there is truth to the confident claims being made in the media about a senior Tottenham man’s future

If Tottenham manage to avoid relegation this season, one would expect the club to take some serious measures in the summer to ensure it does not end up in this situation ever again.

Many Tottenham fans were left frustrated by the club’s lack of ambition in the January transfer window, and they would expect significant reinforcements to the squad this summer.

Many would also expect several key members of the Spurs squad to be sold after two poor campaigns domestically.

Guglielmo Vicario’s future at Tottenham is under question

Among the players who appear most likely to exit the club is Guglielmo Vicario, whom both Inter Milan and Juventus are thought to be extremely keen on signing.

In fact, some Italian outlets have even claimed that Vicario has now emerged as Juve’s number one target ahead of the summer.

However, journalist Luca Momblano has now insisted that he has heard something very different about the Binanconeri’s summer plans.

He said on Twitch show Juventibus (as relayed by Sport Witness): “I was very, very surprised by the article in a well-known newspaper published today. Because from what I can read, it positions Vicario as a first-choice goalkeeper for Juventus, almost in pole position for next summer.

“I have completely contrary feedback. From what I understand, and I’ve had contact not only from Juventus but also from those who manage the goalkeeper’s profile, Juventus has never reached out for the current Tottenham goalkeeper.

“Furthermore, Vicario himself has never heard anything about a possible interest from the Old Lady. For all these reasons, I was surprised by what I read today. Not only do I not put Vicario in the top five goalkeepers being watched for June, but I also don’t even put him in the top seven.”

Spurs have already identified replacements for Vicario

Whether or not a move to Turin is on the cards for the Tottenham number one, he does appear to be on his way out of N17, as the Lilywhites are thought to have started their search for a replacement.

Reports continue to indicate that Man City’s James Trafford is Tottenham’s top target to replace Vicario in the summer.

We have also heard suggestions that Sunderland goalkeeper Robin Roefs and Crystal Palace’s Dean Henderson are also high on Spurs’ wishlist.
