Journalist shares what he has heard about Ndombele’s future at Tottenham

Sky Sports journalist Michael Bridge has revealed Tottenham could have difficulty moving on Tanguy Ndombele and there has been little interest in the midfielder aside from whispers about a loan move to Galatasaray.

Ndombele has struggled to progress for the vast majority of his time at Spurs since securing a club-record £55 million move from Lyon in 2019 (The Guardian).

The 25-year-old returned to the French side on loan for the second half of last season after falling out of favour under Antonio Conte, but has returned to North London after his stint came to an end.

Tottenham are reportedly willing to listen to offers for Ndombele this summer (The Times) as they prepare to embark on their first full campaign with Conte in charge in the dugout.

Bridge has now explained there had been some rumours of Galatasaray pursuing a loan for Ndombele but there has otherwise been no news about a departure, which could give Spurs a problem this summer.

He told Tottenham Fan Chris Cowlin: “Ndombele, there has been absolutely nothing.

“I heard a whisper the other day about Galatasaray about another loan, but there has been nothing really.

“I think that could be the one player where Spurs could have a bit of a problem.”

Tottenham need to find a way to get Ndombele off the books if they don’t believe he has a future at the club and they may have to eat up a loss for that to happen.

His wages are the big stumbling block aside from the transfer fee which is why clubs would rather take him on loan, so Spurs may need to come cup with a compromise.
