Journalist shoots ‘painful’ warning to AC Milan about Tottenham ahead of second leg

Italian journalist Massimo Brambati has warned AC Milan that even though Tottenham are not their best at the moment, the North London club have the firepower to hurt them in the second leg on March 8.

Tottenham fell to a 1-0 loss at the San Siro last week, with Brahim Diaz’s seventh-minute strike proving the difference between the two sides.

In fact, the Serie A club went on to squander several opportunities to add to their lead and take a much bigger cushion into the second leg at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Spurs will welcome back Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg for the return leg after the Dane was suspended for the clash in Italy and Antonio Conte is also expected to be back on the touchline for the game (Telegraph).

The Italian press are understandably keeping a close eye on Tottenham ahead of the second leg and Brambati has now said that although Rodrigo Bentancur is a big miss for the Lilywhites, they cannot be taken lightly by the Rossoneri.

The journalist is quoted as saying on TMW Radio: “Tottenham is missing Bentancur a lot, Conte is not there physically. And in the long run, an absence like that weighs like that of a player. But if Tottenham get the right game right, it’s painful.”

While we were poor in the first leg, Milan did not show anything to suggest that they should be feared. We are more than capable of beating them at home and could put them under some serious pressure if we start the game with a lot of intensity.
