Journalist suggests 25-year-old Spurs target may be sold early in the window

Ben Jacobs has said that Leicester City would have to sell some players before the end of June due to their PSR issues, with Tottenham target Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall potentially on the chopping block.

Dewsbury-Hall has been one of the best players on show across the Championship and played a key part in helping Leicester secure promotion, managing 12 goals and 14 assists in 44 league games (Transfermarkt).

It was reported by talkSPORT last month that the Foxes have to sell some assets this summer to offset their losses, with an exit from the King Power Stadium being on the cards for the midfielder this summer.

The report claimed that Tottenham are sniffing around the 25-year-old but face competition from Brighton, who have retained an interest in the player after their failed January move for him.

This was backed up a couple of weeks ago by Football Insider, who said that the Foxes value the midfielder at around £30m.

Leicester may be forced to sell Dewsbury-Hall

When asked about the continued speculation over Dewsbury-Hall, Jacobs has now told GiveMeSport: “I don’t think the Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall links have overshadowed Leicester’s promotion. It’s a fantastic achievement.

“And it was important for Leicester to come up the first time of asking, but we know now that they fall under the jurisdiction of the Premier League, and they could be in a difficult financial position.

“So Leicester are going to have to sell despite coming up to the Premier League, and they might have to still sell relatively fast.

“And this is where Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall – a pure-profit player as it’s known – is maybe somebody that the club feel at the right number they have to sacrifice even though the player has said publicly that he’s got no intention of leaving.”

Spurs Web Opinion

We will see quite a lot of business done quite early in the transfer window as a few Premier League sides have to raise funds before the end of June to avoid sanctions. Tottenham are well placed to take advantage and could potentially look to push through some cut-price deals.
