Sky Sports reporter Lyall Thomas has said that Ange Postecoglou would ideally want to sign a striker who is younger than Wolves star Hwang Hee-Chan.
While Hwang had looked impressive in bursts since joining Wolves two and a half years ago, he had struggled for consistency until this campaign.
However, the versatile striker has taken his game to a different level since the arrival of Gary O’Neil at the Molineux Stadium, having found the back of the net 10 times in Premier League 20 matches so far this season.
It was reported by Football Insider a couple of weeks ago that the South Korean’s performances had caught the attention of both Spurs and Liverpool.
The outlet suggested that the Lilywhites and the Reds could potentially go head-to-head for the former RB Leipzig star next summer.

Spurs to go for a younger option in attack
While Thomas acknowledged that Hwang has taken a game up a notch or two this season, he suggested that Postecoglou’s men are more likely to pursue someone of a younger profile.
The journalist said on the Last Word on Spurs podcast: “I think if he carries on the way he’s going yeah, he’s stepped up a level, but I think with Spurs if they do something permanent it would be a younger player.
“They operate on two fronts and primarily they have been operating on young players to come in like Dragusin who will be for the project long-term rather than established players who are a short-term thing.”

If Hwang is too old for Spurs, so are Ivan Toney and Serhou Guirassy, who are the same age as the Wolves star while Dominic Solanke is also only a year younger than those three. Santiago Gimenez is the only young option among the centre-forwards who have been mooted as targets for the North London side.
