Journalist suggests Spurs could be interested in shock move for Man Utd star

Pete O’Rourke has suggested that Tottenham Hotspur could look to make an approach for Manchester United forward Marcus Rahsford this summer.

Rashford has endured quite a poor season at Old Trafford, having struggled to get a run of starts under his belt. When opportunities have come his way, the England international has looked a shadow of the player he was a couple of years ago.

Reports indicate that the 24-year-old is giving serious consideration to potentially asking for a move away from his boyhood club this summer after falling out of favour at Old Trafford (The Guardian).

Meanwhile, Antonio Conte is thought to be keen on adding to his forward line this summer, with the likes of Inter Milan’s Lautaro Martinez (Wettfreunde) and Juventus’ Paulo Dybala (Foot Mercato) being mooted as potential targets for the North London club.

O’Rourke has now said the potential availability of Rashford could be of interest to Conte’s men this summer.

The journalist told GiveMeSport: “Maybe the potential availability of Marcus Rashford could be interesting to Tottenham because he hasn’t really figured much for Manchester United, especially in the second half of the season, and is meant to be unhappy at Old Trafford.”

I do not think Man Utd would consider selling Rashford to a direct rival unless as part of a deal to take someone like Kane to Old Trafford. Besides, the 24-year-old is at his best when playing off the left – a position which is occupied by Son Heung-min.
