Journalist suggests Spurs have the ‘pull’ to turn Premier League star’s head

Journalist Ben Jacobs has said that Hwang Hee-chan could have his head turned by Tottenham’s interest, claiming that the striker will reassess his future next summer.

Hwang has threatened to explode since first arriving in the Premier League two and a half years ago, it now seems like the South Korean is finally announcing himself on the big stage and living up to his potential.

The versatile forward, who can play across the frontline, has been on fire for Gary O’Neil’s men this season, having scored 10 goals and provided three assists in 21 Premier League appearances so far (Transfermarkt).

Tottenham’s interest in the 27-year-old first came to light a few days ago, with Football Insider revealing earlier this week that both Liverpool and Spurs have scouted the player this season.

The report added that both clubs had been impressed by what they had seen from the former RB Leipzig star and were contemplating a move for the Wolves star.

Should Tottenham move for Hwang-Hee-chan?

Jacobs has ruled out the possibility of Hwang leaving the Molineux Stadium during this month’s transfer window but he insisted that the forward will reassess his situation at the end of the campaign.

The journalist said on The Last Word on Spurs podcast: “I think that Hwang is on fire at the moment, I don’t see a mid-season move but you never know because Spurs have got pull.

“These players when they’re on form might have their head turned, but the deal is going to be difficult to pull off in January, and Hwang will be in big demand come the summer.

“If you’re sensible as Hwang, and this is what I’m told he’s going to do, there’ll be an assessment to work out what he’s going to get.”

Spurs Web Opinion

We know that Postecoglou loves versatile forwards who can play across the frontline and Hwang certainly has the engine and all-round game to thrive in the Australian’s system. The South Korean would be a much better fit for Tottenham than the likes of Santiago Gimenez and Serhou Guirassy
