Journalist thinks ‘a few’ managers have already expressed interest in Spurs job

According to journalist Paul Brown in his latest article for GiveMeSport, there have already been ‘a few’ managers who have ‘come forward’ regarding the Tottenham Hotspur managerial vacancy.

Tottenham parted ways with Antonio Conte on Sunday after 16 months of working with the Italian.

Despite an impressive first season in charge, things had turned sour at the club this year with results and performances frustrating fans.

The situation took a severe turn for the worst when Spurs threw away a two-goal lead against relegation battlers Southampton in their last league game.

Conte delivered a highly critical press conference after the game (Football.London), taking aim at the players and the club’s owners.

Just over a week later, the club announced Conte had left his role by mutual consent and confirmed that Cristian Stellini would stay on as manager until the end of the season, with Ryan Mason to assist him.

It is thought chairman Daniel Levy has names in mind to take the job permanently in the summer, with Julian Nagelsmann expected to be at the top of the list (Telegraph).

Now, Brown has claimed there will be plenty of managers keen on taking the job at Spurs, and commented on the idea of Mauricio Pochettino returning to the club.

He said: “I think there’ll be a lot of managers interested in the Spurs job.

“I think a few have come forward already. Pochettino is a really interesting one.

“I think there are people at the club who would really love to have him back, including people in the dressing room there.”
