Journalist thinks Spurs are ‘relaxed’ regarding Harry Kane’s contract situation

Journalist Pete O’Rourke thinks that Tottenham are in no rush to sell Harry Kane this summer and are relaxed about the striker’s contract situation.

Since the arrival of Antonio Conte to Spurs, Kane has demonstrated why he remains one of the best, if not the best centre-forward in world football.

However, there remains a huge question mark over his future as the England captain will only have two years left on his contract at the end of the season (Transfermarkt).

According to reports, Kane wants assurances that Tottenham will back Conte in the transfer market before committing his future to the North London club (The Sun).

Fabrizio Romano claimed last week that Conte wants the 28-year-old to stay and be the ‘star’ of his project at Spurs but he added the striker will not make any decision on his future for the time being.

O’Rourke has now revealed he thinks it will take a big-money offer to convince Tottenham to part ways with Kane this summer even if he does not sign a new contract.

When asked about the striker’s contract situation, he told GiveMeSport: “I think Spurs are quite relaxed about the situation.

“He’s under contract until 2024, so there’s no massive rush to sell him right now and it would take a big-money offer to convince Spurs to sell him.”

Spurs Web Opinion

If Spurs fail to qualify for the Champions League and Kane decides to push for a move in the summer, I would expect Levy to demand at least £100m for the striker even though he would only have two years left on his contract.

Kane could push for a move if Man City reignite their interest but I doubt he would be tempted to join Man Utd as a move to Old Trafford might not guarantee him any silverware.
