Journalist Paul Brown has ruled out any chance of Tottenham snapping up Arnuat Danjuma on a permanent basis in the summer, claiming that the wingrr has been ‘forgotten’ by the North London club.
Spurs’ signing of Danjuma seemingly came out of the blue towards the end of the January transfer window.
Reports indicated at the time that the Lilywhites swooped for the Dutchman just as he was on the verge of signing for Everton, with the player even having completed his medical at Goodison Park (The Athletic).
Danjuma has joined the North London club on an initial loan deal, with the Premier League club thought to have the option to make the move permanent for £21m (Rob Guest on Gold and Guest Talk Tottenham Podcast).
However, the 26-year-old has not started a single game since arriving at Spurs, with Antonio Conte even stating earlier this month that he feels sorry for the attacker, adding that he does not fit naturally into his formation (Football.London).
It remains to be seen if Danjuma’s fortunes will change now that Conte has departed but Brown certainly does not expect it to.
The journalist told GiveMeSport about the on-loan Villarreal man: “I would be absolutely amazed if Spurs actually made an attempt to sign Danjuma at the end of the season, and that is ultimately why players go on loan [to sell themselves].

“He’s not really in the shop window at the moment. He would’ve been better off staying where he was than the situation he finds himself in now because he’s almost completely forgotten.”

It is clear that Danjuma was signed as Conte wanted one attacking player to come through the door before greenlighting Bryan Gil’s departure.
I do not expect the 26-year-old to get game time over the coming weeks despite Conte leaving as Stellini will likely stick with the same formation and tactical set-up.
