Journalists reveal what Ndombele did after being substituted against Morecambe

Tanguy Ndombele walked straight down the tunnel after being substituted off against Morecambe at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this afternoon.

At the time, Spurs were 1-0 down to the Shrimps in what threatened to become a very embarrassing FA Cup tie for Antonio Conte and his players.

Keen to get something moving, the Italian prepared a triple substitution on the 70-minute mark, with Lucas Moura, Harry Kane and Oliver Skipp coming on.

While Bryan Gil and Dele Alli swiftly exited the pitch to get the reinforcements on as quickly as possible, Ndombele chose to leave at a more leisurely pace.

Both Alasdair Gold and Charlie Eccleshare report that Ndombele was booed as he left the field, with Gold adding that the boos seemed to slow him down even further.

Eccleshare also confirmed that the Frenchman had gone straight down the tunnel rather than staying to watch Spurs smash three past Morecambe in the final 20 minutes, courtesy of Harry Winks, Harry Kane and Lucas Moura.

Spurs Web Opinion:

I don’t see a way back for Ndombele now at Tottenham. All the talent in the world cannot make up for a lack of effort in the Premier League/English football and I’m just not sure Ndombele has the graft you need. It’s such a heartbreaking shame and a waste, but there you go.
