Journalists reveal why Spurs are ‘very unhappy’ with Fulham after postponement

According to Football.London’s Alasdair Gold and The Athletic’s Charlie Eccleshare, Tottenham Hotspur are displeased with the late nature of the postponement of their clash against Fulham this evening.

While reports indicated on Tuesday that there was a chance the game might not go ahead, the clubs only received official confirmation on the matter just hours ahead of kick-off.

It has been revealed that Fulham sent a request to the Premier League for the game to be postponed after a number of their players showed symptoms of the virus today.

The Premier League said they took the decision as a precaution after consultation with medical experts.

Jose Mourinho has already expressed his displeasure at the uncertainty caused by the potential cancellation mere hours before the match.

Gold has now claimed that Tottenham were ready to travel to the stadium to play and were extremely unhappy at the lack of communication from Fulham about their circumstances.

The decision to postpone the game appears to have been the right one as it would have been a major risk for the match to go ahead. However, the Premier League should not have left it as late as they did to make the announcement.
