Jurgen Klinsmann claims Spurs can win Premier League title with ‘evolved’ Kane

Former Tottenham striker, Jurgen Klinsmann has showered praise on Harry Kane for the way in which he has evolved his game.

The Spurs striker has been Tottenham’s main creative force this season, constantly getting on the ball in deep areas and picking out runners over the top and in behind.

His passing range, combined with the pace and movement of Heung-min Son, has made it extremely difficult for teams to defend against Jose Mourinho’s men.

While Son is joint top of the goal-scoring charts along with Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Kane has racked up the most assists in the league so far (Premierleague.com)

There has been plenty of talk about what Gareth Bale can add to that front line and Spurs fans did get to see a glimpse of the trio playing together against West Ham.

However, Bale’s second debut for the club was one to forget, with the Lilywhites throwing away two points due to a late collapse.

Klinsmann admitted that Kane needs to win titles in order to do his talent justice but insisted that he can do so at Spurs.

Despite how the North Londoners crumbled against the Hammers, he backed them to challenge for the title this season.

The former Tottenham man told ESPN FC (starting at 1:34 in the video): “It is good to watch Harry evolving in his own game. He can play as a pure number nine or roam around and open up spaces like he did for the first goal – just an amazing ball to Son and he finished things off.

“I think nowadays the traditional number nine is kind of getting rarer and rarer. With Lewandowski, we still have one that really plays like the old-style number nine that I was playing 20, 30 years ago.

“But Harry Kane evolved his game. He is really on top of his game. All he needs is titles. Harry needs to get titles and put them in his pocket and that’s what a whole career is all about at the end of the day.

“Hopefully, this will happen this season. It seems there is a good spirit in the group even if they gave two vital points away today (Sunday).

“But I see Spurs really this year as one of the teams that can win the Premier League.”
