Jurgen Klinsmann labels Spurs-linked midfielder as ‘one of the biggest talents in Europe’

Club legend Jurgen Klinsmann has sung the praises of Italian midfielder Nicolo Barella following his exploits during Euro 2020.

Tottenham have been linked with a move for the Inter Milan star since January with Calcio Mercato claiming that the North Londoners and Liverpool were both keen on landing him.

Italy boss Roberto Mancini has shown his trust in the 24-year-old, having started him in all but one of Italy’s Euro 2020 fixtures so far in their journey to the semi-final stage where they will face Spain tomorrow night.

Klinsmann believes that Barella is one of the continent’s top talents, having been left impressed by what he has witnessed.

Barella featured 36 times for Inter in Serie A last season, scoring three goals and providing nine assists in their Scudetto-winning campaign (transfermarkt).

Klinsmann said on BBC One (8:50pm, July 2, 2021): “He is quite a player. Barella is a very young player coming through. With his quality, he is one of the biggest talents in Europe right now.”

Barella would be a brilliant signing for Tottenham given his ability to create plenty of chances in the final third, which is something we have been lacking since the departure of Christian Eriksen. However, it is likely that Inter would command a hefty transfer fee following his performances for Italy this summer.
