Lucas Bergvall isn’t even part of the Tottenham Hotspur squad yet, but the press have been asking Ange Postecoglou about what we can expect from the Swedish youngster. As you may expect, Postecoglou asked for patience when it comes to the 18-year-old.
Alasdair Gold also revealed that Bergvall made a great first impression when he visited the club to complete the transfer and had an ‘instant impact’ on the staff around Hotspur Way.

However, Postecoglou is not getting ahead of himself when it comes to Bergvall, and he doesn’t want anyone else to, either. In his latest press conference (via Football.London), the Spurs boss was asked how quickly Bergvall can make an impact.

He replied: “Well considering he’s in Sweden I’m going to have to be a little bit patient. At least six months or so… nah mate he’s just signed for us and we’re really happy to get him in. I think he’s a really talented young player.
“Obviously he’s just beginning his career. Johan and the scouting department did a lot of work with him. We met the family, great family and he’s a great kid. Let’s just wait until he’s got his slippers under the door here before we start putting expectations around him.”

There is so much hype around Bergvall, but we really do need to be careful not to expect too much from him too quickly. I’m sure Ange knows how to handle his development in the right manner.
