Juventus hope to agree new contract with alleged Spurs target – Claims journalist

Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Juventus’ talks over a new contract with rumoured Tottenham target Samuel Iling-Junior have been ‘very positive’.

Iling-Junior has caught the eye after breaking into Juventus’ senior side this season, having registered two assists in his three substitute appearances (Transfermarkt).

Tuttosport reported earlier this month that the winger has impressed Massimiliano Allegri, who plans on integrating him further into the first team.

However, it was explained that the youngster was also attracting interest from several clubs across the continent, including Spurs, with Fabio Paratici said to be keen on reuniting with the teenager after spearheading the deal to take him to Turin in 2020.

The report added that Chelsea, Brighton and RB Leipzig were also eyeing a move for the 19-year-old ahead of the January transfer window.

With Iling-Junior’s current contract running out at the end of the season, Juve were said to be prioritising tying the youngster down to a new deal.

If Romano’s latest update is to be believed, the Old Lady’s talks with the England Under-20 international have gone well so far, with an agreement expected to be reached between the parties ‘soon’.

Paratici would be well aware of Iling-Junior’s talent, having taken him from the Chelsea academy to Juve. So, it is not surprising that the Spurs managing director of football is exploring a deal for the 19-year-old, given his contract situation. However, the fact that the winger has broken into Allegri’s first team this season might convince him to commit his future to the Serie A giants.
