Kaboul poised for the top if he cuts out mistakes

Younes Kaboul

Younes Kaboul’s display against Everton has come in for praise from Spurs boss Harry Redknapp.

Redknapp believes that the 24-year-old can become a top player if he can cut out the odd defensive lapse of concentration.

“I thought Kaboul and Gallas did ever so well at the back together,” said Redknapp.

“Kaboul’s got everything to be a top player. He lacks concentration at times. But he’s got pace, he’s great in the air, he can pass, can come out with the ball.

“He’s lightning quick, he’s a great athlete – it’s all there for him.

“If he just gets his concentration and keeps working on his game, he’s got everything to be an outstanding player.”

Have something to tell us about this article?

  1. Completly different player to the one that first rocked up at WHL.Credit must go to Harry & his coaching team.In fact just about all the players have improved since Redknapp took over, just look at Gareth Bale..!!COYS

  2. I am still incredibly nervous when Kaboul plays – especially in CB. Definitely improved since his first stint. But as Harry says, he will make some major mistakes from time to time. He got away with the major ones against Everton, and got punished for the minor one – the push that gave away the free-kick outside the box. However his versatlility and ability to slot back in is greatly appreciated when we have injuries.
